CWT Plant Manager – Van Buren

Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership:
- Oversee daily plant operations, including waste intake, processing, discharge, and maintenance.
- Lead process improvements to optimize productivity and reduce costs while maintaining operational excellence.
- Ensure operations follow company standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety guidelines, and regulatory compliance.
Safety & Compliance Management:
- Implement and enforce strict safety protocols and lead safety initiatives to meet and exceed company goals.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, serving as the primary contact for audits and inspections.
- Oversee lab management, sampling, and discharge documentation in alignment with permit requirements.
Financial & P&L Responsibility:
- Manage plant budgets with full P&L accountability, ensuring cost-effective operations without compromising safety or quality.
- Identify and implement initiatives to control costs and improve profitability.
- Collaborate with finance and administrative teams to ensure proper billing and accurate tracking of receivables.
Team Development & Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing teams while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Oversee staffing, training, and scheduling to meet operational needs and growth goals.
- Act as a hands-on leader, guiding employees through challenges and implementing solutions to drive team success.
Customer & Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Partner with sales, customer solutions, and external stakeholders to develop customized waste treatment solutions and maximize plant capacity.
- Maintain awareness of market conditions, including competitor activity, pricing, and opportunities for growth.
What You’ll Bring to the Role
Required Experience & Skills:
- 5 years of leadership experience in operations, plant management, or industrial settings (wastewater or related industries preferred).
- Proven success managing plant performance, optimizing processes, and achieving operational goals.
- Strong P&L management experience with the ability to control costs and maximize profitability.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance and safety standards within industrial, manufacturing, or highly regulated environments.
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills with experience managing cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated problem-solving ability and a track record of implementing process improvements.
Preferred but Not Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or a related industrial discipline.
- Experience in a centralized waste treatment (CWT) facility or similar operation.
Working Conditions:
- Combination of office and on-site plant work, including time spent outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Exposure to industrial plant environments, odors, and physical activities.
