Summary of Duties:
- Builds prototypes for testing and experimentation and makes samples for further analysis.
- Works in accordance with general objectives, improving and refining devices and methods, as necessary conducts fabrication of cables; tests cables, equipment setup, equipment operations, and monitoring and measuring; gathers data; builds prototypes/units and test equipment
- Soldering of electronic components and wire using a microscope
- Inspect, including self-inspect, and perform tests of various product components
- Use of hand and power tools to assist in the fabrication of cables and electronic assemblies
- Works in accordance with general objectives, improving and refining devices and methods, as necessary
- Use of Six Sigma and Lean practices to improve daily work
- Participation in team related activities
- May perform other duties as required
- Formal training or practical experience equivalent to technical knowledge obtained in military training courses, on the job training, or through a two-year technical degree
- 2 years of experience required
- Must have or be able to obtain a DOE Q clearance
