As a Supplier Development Engineer, you will approve and develop new and existing suppliers to required levels of performance expected by Honeywell and lead qualification of parts manufactured by suppliers, lead improvement of supplier productivity, safety, and quality for assigned suppliers, and develop & maintain relationships in order to improve partnerships between Honeywell & suppliers. As Honeywell's point of contact within the supply base, you will support transition and supplier development activities within your assigned geographical area. In support of a variety of supplier oversight functions, you will be spending approximately 50% of your time at supplier facilities.
Key Responsibilities
•Responsible for coordinating with Procurement, Site Quality and Category Manager organizations for enabling growth & quality improvements at preferred suppliers.
•Responsible for supplier qualification thru Honeywell Supplier Common Assessment
•Part approval thru Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)
•Monitor and report on supplier productivity performance and initiatives to improve.
•Interface with Suppliers, Quality, Operations, & Engineering, & Procurement organizations to drive quality improvements.
•Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions process of supplier major quality issues.
•Drive use data analytics to identify the most important issues to focus effort on.
•Responsible for other duties and tasks as directed.
•Lead new supplier qualification and first article qualification cross-functional teams.
