Job Summary:
As a Maintenance Purchaser, you will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing our procurement process. You will be responsible for soliciting quotes, creating purchase orders, maintaining supplier relationships, and ensuring accuracy in orders and invoicing. Your work will directly impact our operational efficiency, cost management, and supplier performance.
Schedule:
Monday - Friday : 9 AM - 5 PM
Weekends : As Needed
Overtime : As Needed
Key Responsibilities:
- Supplier Interaction: Solicit quotes from suppliers for non-corrugated materials and services, as well as from sister Hood Container sites for corrugated materials.
- Purchase Requisitions: Approve and process all purchase requisitions.
- Purchase Orders: Create and manage purchase orders for both direct and indirect materials and services.
- Communication: Interact with suppliers regarding purchase orders, delivery schedules, and cost. Communicate with internal teams such as customer service, planning, design, preproduction, and corrugated material estimating.
- Data Management: Maintain and update purchase order information related to shipping, delivery dates, quantities, and pricing to ensure accurate expectations of suppliers.
- Discrepancy Management: Handle discrepancies related to quantities and receipts internally. Manage invoice discrepancies between accounts payable (AP) and suppliers.
- Supplier Evaluation: Research and evaluate suppliers based on various factors such as price, quality, service, and reliability.
- Cost Savings: Assist in identifying and executing cost-saving opportunities within the supply chain.
- Supplier Setup: Manage the setup of new suppliers and facilitate the investigation and resolution of quality issues involving suppliers.
- Supplier Information: Update and revise supplier information, including contacts, payment methods, and terms.
- Supplier Relationship: Maintain a positive relationship with suppliers and track supplier history and service levels.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (preferred).
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement or purchasing.
