At Hooked on Books, we pride ourselves on creating a welcoming and engaging environment for book lovers. Our independent, locally owned bookstore offers a personal touch and place to grow for a dedicated and hardworking person interested in books.
We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic young professional to join our team as a part-time cashier and book processor. This role is perfect for someone who loves books and interacting with people. You will be responsible for checking out customers, entering books into our inventory system, shelving books, handling book intake from customers, and assisting customers find books or make recommendations as needed.
Key responsibilities for this position include:
· Assist customers with purchases and handle transactions at the cash register
· Enter new books into our inventory system accurately
· Shelve books and ensure that our selection is well-organized and clean (including cleaning books during processing)
· Assess customer books and determine if the product is a good fit
Requirements:
· You must be okay with part-time work (up to 20 hours per week)
· Able to work weekends (Saturday and Sunday)
· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
· Friendly and customer-oriented
· Basic computer skills for inventory entry
· Able to lift up to 25 pounds and climb ladders
· Must have reliable transportation
