Position Summary: Provide safety support to the organization through implementing and maintaining programs while ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities/Duties:

- Promote safety first, zero incident value culture.
- Responsible for all Hoosier Crane safety and environmental operations and compliance by reviewing, interpreting and implementing programs.
- Conduct regular and/or frequent inspections, site visits, and audits to identify potential hazards, assess risks, and recommend appropriate preventative measures and follow-up.
- Collaborate with department supervisors to develop, implement, update and maintain safety protocols, manuals, job descriptions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), preventative maintenance, LOTO, and emergency response plans.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root cause and develop corrective actions.
- Manage the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Conduct Job Site Analysis (JSA) audits.
- Prepare and submit reports, permit applications, and other environmental submissions to regulatory agencies as required.
- Act as liaison to safety regulatory agencies and understand the industry standards including safety and environmental.
- Work with HR, training, and other departments for current/new employee training.
- Act as Emergency Coordinator in the event of evacuation or shelter in place events for all locations.
- Ensure all company and employees are up to date on safety requirements and trends.
- Assist with Department of Transportation (DOT) compliance.
- Follow HCS established safety policies/procedures, including additional ones established by the customers, and all local, state, and federal safety regulations including OSHA, MIOSHA, ASME, etc.
- Participate in company committees, meetings, tool box talks including leading meetings/committees.
- Complete required paper/computer work including.
- Complete weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
- Other duties as assigned.
Abilities and Skills:
•Have excellent verbal and written communication skills set.
•Able to work in a team and individual environment and have high self-motivation.
•Must be detail oriented and must be able to keep sensitive information confidential.
•Must be open to traveling up to 50% of the time with very few overnights.

Background/Experience:
•At least 5 years’ experience as an EHS or similar position in manufacturing, required.
•At least a bachelor’s degree in Occupations Health and Safety, Environmental Science or related field, preferred.
•Professional certifications such as CSP, CHMM, or CIH, preferred.
•Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
