We are currently looking for a full-time salaried Manufacturing Manager to supervise our manufacturing department.
Scheduled Hours: Monday thru Friday 7:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. but may require more hours
Position Summary: Responsible for oversight & management of all areas and personnel in manufacturing operations including inventory, shipping/receiving, procurement, pre-fab, fabrication, paint, assembly, and shipping departments.

- Develop and maintain manufacturing plans, procedures, and personnel
- Promote and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment for all manufacturing employees.
- Organize, review, and maintain manufacturing and project schedules.
- Manage and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly schedules.
- Schedule and coordinate manufacturing manpower, tools, and resources to produce high quality products that meet specification and budgets defined by project scope.
- Resolve design problems, scheduling conflicts, and inventory shortages to support manufacturing, and mitigate project risks, as needed.
- Identify, source, and procure production materials and components for manufacturing projects including: raw materials, OEM components, accessories, consumables, etc.
- Maintain and audit as-built project documentation throughout production processes, including: project binders, work orders, drawings, inventory fulfillments, quality assurance forms, and change orders, etc.
- Prepare and coordinate shipping documents including Bill of Lading and shipping tickets for completed projects.
- Audit and review manufacturing procedures to maintain high standards of manufacturing operations.
- Work closely with project team (sales, engineering, manufacturing, installation) to set up, schedule, produce, and deliver manufacturing projects.
- Supervises direct reports through recruiting, retaining, training, counseling, disciplining, etc. Responsible to ensure direct report departments are consistent with the organization's goals.
- Read and interpret customer supplied drawings, sketches, and specifications. Use and interpret weld symbols in accordance with AWS standards.
- Review, analyze, and apply specifications as they are relevant to specific projects.
- Maintain manufacturing equipment and tools with periodic preventative maintenance, scheduled maintenance, and pre-shift inspections.
- Participate in company and external committees/meetings, as needed.
- Follow HCS established safety policies/procedures, including additional ones established by the customers, and all local, state, and federal safety regulations including OSHA, MIOSHA, ASME, etc.
- Complete all required paper and computer work accurately and timely.
- Report to work as determined by the department needs.
- Other duties as assigned.
Abilities and Skills:
- Working independently and within a team
- Detail oriented, organized, self-motivated
- Print reading, fabrication, and engineering literacy.
Background/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5 years supervisory experience
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint), NetSuite, Adobe Acrobat, AutoCAD, preferred
- Familiarity with steel fabrication and overhead cranes, preferred
