What are the responsibilities and job description for the Radiologic Technician position at HOPCo?
Duties/Responsibilities:
- X-ray patients.
- Enter patient list into equipment daily.
- Enter orders for each exam in computer.
- Pull and file X-ray CD’s.
- Maintain CD Library (CD film log) .
- Log incoming and outgoing CD’s from both ours and other facilities.
- Handle phone calls regarding copies of X-ray.
- Room patients.
- Assist Medical Assistants with suture/staple removal, casting and splinting when necessary.
- Burn CD’s when requested.
- Assist with coverage in the procedure room when necessary.
- Upload ultrasound images to PACS.
- Performs related work as required and other projects and duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certification/Licensure: Basic x-ray license or ARRT
- Proficiency in operation of x-ray procedures.
- Must have knowledge of anatomy and physiology as it relates to orthopedics and knowledge of medical office procedures.
- Medical terminology.
- Ability to process patients and public inquiries and respond with poise and efficiency.
- Ability to recognize, evaluate, solve and correct errors.
- Basic typing and keyboarding skills.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with customer service.
- Familiarity with computers and other office equipment.
- Ability to prioritize responsibilities
- Must be able to act calmly and effectively in busy or stressful situations.
- Requires adherence to all policies and procedures, including standards for safety, attendance, punctuality and personal appearance.
- Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with managers and peers.
- Maintains accurate and strict confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA Compliance of electronic and/or manual systems as established by the appropriate HIPAA protocols, regulations, and policies.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequent mobility and/or standing, bending and stooping are required for extended periods of time.
- Requires occasional lifting up to 25-50 pounds unassisted or assisting patients into desired position for examination.
- Requires manual dexterity to operate computer and other office equipment.
- Occasional high stress work related situations may require dealing with angry or potentially aggravated people.
- Ability to view computer screens for long periods of time.
