Duties / Responsibilities :
X-ray patients.
Enter patient list into equipment daily.
Enter orders for each exam in computer.
Pull and file X-ray CD’s.
Maintain CD Library (CD film log) .
Log incoming and outgoing CD’s from both ours and other facilities.
Handle phone calls regarding copies of X-ray.
Room patients.
Assist Medical Assistants with suture / staple removal, casting and splinting when necessary.
Burn CD’s when requested.
Assist with coverage in the procedure room when necessary.
Upload ultrasound images to PACS.
Performs related work as required and other projects and duties as assigned.
Required Skills / Abilities :
High school diploma or equivalent.
Certification / Licensure : Basic x-ray license.
Proficiency in operation of x-ray procedures.
Must have knowledge of anatomy and physiology as it relates to orthopedics and knowledge of medical office procedures.
Medical terminology.
Ability to process patients and public inquiries and respond with poise and efficiency.
Ability to recognize, evaluate, solve and correct errors.
Basic typing and keyboarding skills.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
Experience with customer service.
Familiarity with computers and other office equipment.
Ability to prioritize responsibilities
Must be able to act calmly and effectively in busy or stressful situations.
Requires adherence to all policies and procedures, including standards for safety, attendance, punctuality and personal appearance.
Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with managers and peers.
Maintains accurate and strict confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA Compliance of electronic and / or manual systems as established by the appropriate HIPAA protocols, regulations, and policies.
Physical Requirements :
Frequent mobility and / or standing, bending and stooping are required for extended periods of time.
Requires occasional lifting up to 25-50 pounds unassisted or assisting patients into desired position for examination.
Requires manual dexterity to operate computer and other office equipment.
Occasional high stress work related situations may require dealing with angry or potentially aggravated people.
Ability to view computer screens for long periods of time.
