What are the responsibilities and job description for the Grant Director position at Hope Alliance?
Essential Functions:
The Grant Director will work on several projects at the same time and often times under tight deadlines. Grant application processes and online submission processes change frequently. The availability of funding also fluctuates, so the Grant Director must develop a diversified network of potential funding sources. The Grant Director is responsible for developing and writing grant proposals to grant-making organizations that will compellingly and persuasively communicate the mission and programs of the Williamson County Crisis Center dba Hope Alliance. Reporting to the Vice President of Resource Development, the Grant Director will assemble and submit grant proposals and other related documents, establish and maintain personal contact and relationships with foundation contacts, conduct prospect research, and maintain a calendar of submissions for both application and Grant Report deadlines.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Learn and understand Hope Alliance’s programs, goals and financial needs.
- Perform research to identify potential grant-making sources and develop Grant Plan for Calendar/Fiscal year.
- Compose and send Letters of Intent, Applications/Proposals to potential federal, state, and local governments, as well as all private source grantors per their published deadlines and guidelines and by their required means of submission (mail, online, etc.).
- Prepare interim and final project reports to grantors as required and scheduled on the grant calendar and in cooperation with the finance and other departments to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
- Send all documents (i.e. grant agreements, grant contracts, grant reports, acknowledgement letters) to the appropriate parties for signatures.
- Maintain an organization-wide grants and grants report deadline calendar.
- Maintain a comprehensive grantor database which holds historical information, funder requirements, current/pending grants, reporting details, etc., with assistance as needed.
- Maintains excellent communication with grantors and answers questions from grantors in a timely fashion.
- Reviews information dealing with funds available through grants to determine feasibility of funding programs and meeting budget allocations.
- Meets or exceeds the revenue goal for grant-related income.
