Job Overview
Hope and Harbor is a nonprofit organization located in Rd Wing, MN that currently operates an overnight, seasonal homeless shelter serving all of Goodhue County. The shelter serves adults during the coldest months, typically November through March. We partner with local churches who host the shelter on a rotating basis, typically two weeks at a time. Funding has been received for a community day program which is in the development stage.
The Executive Director is a pivotal leadership role responsible for the overall management of the organization's seasonal homeless shelter and the development of the new community day program. This position requires a leader who can effectively manage operations while developing, building and maintaining relationships with partner organizations and the community. The Executive Director will work closely with the board of directors to implement policies, oversee program development and ensure the organization meets its goals and objectives.
Minimum Requirements
- Extensive organizational skills and an ability to handle multiple tasks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with guests, staff, volunteers, partners, donors, funders, local officials and other stakeholders.
- Strong business writing skills
- Understanding of budgeting and financial oversight.
- Management experience.
- Experience working with individuals in marginalized populations.
Preferred Requirements
- College Degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Services or Social Work
- Experience working with individuals who are experiencing homelessness.
- Experience in fund raising and grant writing/reporting.
- Proficiency in Excel, QuickBooks, PowerPoint, Google Docs, Word.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day operations, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in all programs.
- Supervision of staff and volunteers. The organization relies heavily in the support of hundreds of volunteers.
- Oversee financial management, including budgeting and resource allocation.
- Negotiate contracts and partnerships that align with organizational goals.
- Foster a collaborative environment among staff, stakeholders, and board members.
- Guide business development efforts to expand the organization's reach and impact.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and organizational policies.
- Represent the organization at community events, meetings, and conferences.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $49,600.00 - $54,600.00 per year
