Hope and Healing Clinic is seeking a Transportation Supervisor who is eager to support the launch of their new clinic located in Tumwater, WA.

The Patient Transportation Supervisorsupports the mission of Hope and Healing Clinic by leading the transportation department in all areas of compliance and safety of all drivers and vehicles. The supervisor shall know and maintain all legal requirements related to DOT, local, state and federal regulations in accordance with all laws.

The supervisor oversees hiring, training, safety, monitoring and quality assurance controls to meet key performance indicator targets (e.g., quality, census building, and safety standards). The supervisor is in charge of vehicle inspections and maintenance. The supervisor shall plan, schedule, and maintain appropriate staffing. The supervisor shall investigate and resolve all scheduling and employee performance objectives.

The supervisor will continually recommend, develop, implement, and further improvements and modifications of systems, processes, methods, and resource utilization. The supervisor shall ensure drivers' and dispatchers' concerns are reviewed and addressed promptly. The supervisor will represent Hope and Healing Clinic by frequently interacting with the clinic leadership team, staff of other departments, outside representatives, patients and vendors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Screen, interview, train, orient, and monitor drivers and dispatchers to ensure proper compliance of DOT, local, state, and federal rules and regulations.
  • This position shall include observation, coaching, and evaluations of safe driving performance. Provide drivers and dispatchers training and guidance regarding trip planning, vehicle checks, ensuring properly and safely equipped vehicles and procedures, logging practices and systems training.
  • Communicate and document ongoing trainings, audit checks, corrective action, employee evaluations, and employee performance development and improvement plans.
  • Updates employees on new guidelines and provides preventative measures and interventions as needed for continuous quality improvement.
  • Manage the lifecycle of the vehicles from acquisition to disposal; and provide analytics and analysis to assist in making informed decisions related to fleet transactions.
  • Manage cradle-to-grave administrative tasks of fleet inventory oversight and procedures.
  • Review and document safety roadside inspections, violations, and tickets.
  • Facilitate the assignment and transfer of all project fleet vehicles.
  • Provide direction and guidance on DOT-regulated vehicle operations to include annual license and registration renewals, endorsement verification, federally mandated training, equipment / vehicle inspections, and recordkeeping.
  • Maintain drug & alcohol testing program with HR support when probable cause indicates need for toxicology tests
  • Request and review annual MVR, PSP, and Clearinghouse drivers reports.
  • Investigate fleet accidents and patient incidents and work closely with HR and insurance on claims
  • Assists management with projects as needed

Education / Experience / Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, transportation, or related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred.
  • Practical knowledge of safety regulations with hands on knowledge of FMCSA, Drug & Alcohol Regulations, ELD HOS rules is preferred
  • Excellent analytical skills to evaluate data, suggest improvements and problem resolution
  • Proven ability to plan, prioritize, and complete multiple tasks within deadlines
  • Strong knowledge of DOT regulations / policies / compliance
  • Understanding of routing and efficiencies
  • Ability to articulate speech, critical thinking skills, and the ability to adhere to confidentiality
  • 2 Years supervision experience is highly desirable
  • Experience with non-emergency medical transportation is preferred
  • Experience with creating, developing, and improving safety policies and procedures
  • Experience and ease in working in a startup environment
  • Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit or drive for a minimum of an eight-hour workday
  • Ability to lift 10-50 lbs.
  • Ability to carry 10- 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work outside for extended periods of time
  • Certificates / Licenses / Registrations

  • Valid driver's license
