Title I Reading Interventionalist
This position will be for the 2025/2026 School Year
HOPE Community Academy is an accredited, public co-educational charter school comprised of primary, intermediate, middle school, and high school levels. Primary duties: (These duties are a representative sample; position assignments may vary.)
· Providing reading instruction: Delivering targeted reading instruction to students who are struggling with literacy skills to help improve their reading abilities.
· Assessing student progress: Administering assessments to evaluate students' reading levels and progress, and using the data to inform instructional strategies.
· Developing individualized learning plans: Creating and implementing personalized learning plans for students based on their specific needs and goals.
· Collaborating with classroom teachers: Working closely with classroom teachers to align reading instruction with the broader curriculum and support students both in the reading classroom and during regular classroom instruction.
· Monitoring and tracking student performance: Keeping detailed records of student progress and outcomes, and regularly communicating with parents, teachers, and administrators about student achievement.
· Providing interventions: Offering targeted interventions for students who require additional support in reading comprehension, fluency, phonics, vocabulary, and other key areas of literacy.
· Implementing evidence-based practices: Utilizing research-based instructional practices and resources to enhance students' reading skills and overall literacy development.
· Professional development: Engaging in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in reading instruction and literacy education.
· Creating a positive learning environment: Fostering a supportive and engaging classroom environment that encourages a love for reading and motivates students to become proficient readers.
· Advocating for students: Serving as an advocate for students who require additional support in reading, and collaborating with parents, teachers, and support staff to ensure students receive the resources they need to succeed.
Professional Accountabilities
- Maintains professional competence by attending staff development programs, curriculum development meetings and other professional activities.
- Participates in various school events, staff meetings and extracurricular activities.
- Performs any other related duties as assigned by the Principal or other appropriate administrator.
- Serve as a role model for promoting effective instruction and professionalism
Minimum Qualifications
- B.A/B.S. degree in teaching from an accredited institution or related field of teaching
- Minnesota State Licensure in teaching in appropriate subject area
- ABS licensed, ASD preferred
- Ability and flexibility to interact effectively with students, parents, and other school staff, the administration, and community members of diverse ethnic/racial and socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Ability to collaborate with grade level teachers, paraprofessionals, and tutors regarding instructional classroom activities
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Ability to plan and implement lesson plans base on school goals, as well as the objectives, and needs of students.
- Ability to adapt teaching styles to diverse student populations
- Ability to utilize computer and multimedia technology, as appropriate.
- Knowledge of classroom management and organization
Working Environment:
· Duties are normally performed in a school/classroom environment; school building is a multi-level building that has an elevator and is accessible
· Position requires extensive interaction with children of all ages
· Duties may occasionally be performed on field trips away from school
· Duties may occasionally be performed in outdoor environments, such as athletic fields or playgrounds
· Duties may occasionally be performed in varying weather conditions, such as hot or cold weather.
· Possible exposure to loud and noisy locations (e.g. loud classrooms or cafeterias; children speaking or laughing loudly).
