Hope Community Resources is a non-profit organization providing community supports to hundreds of individuals and families who experience intellectual and developmental disabilities, traumatic brain injury and mental health challenges.
Position Overview:
As a Resident Manager, you will play a key role in creating a supportive, family-like environment in a home designed for children. Working alongside another Resident Manager, you will coordinate care, supervise staff, and ensure that the home runs smoothly and safely. Every day, we’ll rely on you to bring energy, enthusiasm, and creativity to the role, helping to make the home a joyful and nurturing place for our young residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise a team of dedicated staff, ensuring they provide compassionate care to the children in the home.
- Work closely with another Resident Manager to foster a collaborative, positive work environment.
- Assist in the development of individualized Plans of Care that support the needs, strengths, and goals of each child.
- Ensure the home is a fun, energetic, and safe environment that feels like a family.
- Help create meaningful experiences for the children, including planning activities, outings, and life skills development.
- Support with personal care, emotional needs, and day-to-day routines.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies, regulations, and safety standards.
- Communicate regularly with families, team members, and other professionals to ensure coordinated care.
Ideal Candidate:
- A positive, energetic individual with a passion for supporting children and creating a fun, loving atmosphere.
- Previous experience in childcare, personal care, or experience with complex care needs preferred.
- Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to work closely with another Resident Manager.
- A team player who is adaptable, compassionate, and enjoys being part of a close-knit team.
- A desire to contribute to a warm, supportive, and engaging environment where children feel safe, valued, and loved.
- Experience in managing staff and ensuring high standards of care is a plus.
Education and Experience
- High School diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Health or Social Science, Special Education or other related field preferred. Emphasis of study in developmental disabilities preferred.
- Two years of experience providing direct support services required; one year of supervisory or administrative experience strongly preferred.
