The Scituate School Department is seeking a dynamic 1.0 Substitute Title I interventionist for Hope Elementary School.
The successful candidate must submit a clear BCI Check from the RI Department of Attorney General prior to appointment. Please read the qualifications and expectations for this position below carefully. The preference of the department is for the successful applicant to hold BOTH certificates. However, all applications will be considered in order to get the right fit for the district. All applicants MUST HAVE a current and valid certificate from the RI Department of Education prior to applying for this position.
•Assist in administering benchmark assessments
•Collect and analyze multiple sources of data to determine students at risk
•Assist in the identification of students who are at risk of performing below grade level in English Language Arts and/or
Mathematics
•Develop intervention plans for identified students
•Identify, develop and administer targeted interventions to identified students
•Prepare and employ instructional methods and materials that are most appropriate for meeting stated objectives
•Create an environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students
•Guide the learning process toward the achievement of intervention goals and establish and communicate clear objectives to
students
•Work with individual students or small groups for the purpose of practicing and/or reinforcing learning concepts and assisting
students in reaching grade-level standards
•Progress monitor the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and document progress utilizing Tier 2 and Tier 3 reports
for each round of intervention
•Consult with colleagues, students, and parents on a regular basis
•Other duties as assigned by the elementary principal
