Job Summary
The Accounts Payable & Payroll Manager serves as a member of the Accounting Department and reports directly to the Controller, Accounting. A hands-on position that will lead an Accounts Payable & Payroll team. This position will be responsible for improving and creating processes as well as strengthening internal controls for a fast-moving Christian media company. This position is responsible for managing the day-to-day activities and long-term optimization of accounts payable and payroll.

Essential Functions
Management
- This position will be responsible for improving, managing and creating business critical processes as well as strengthening internal controls for an expanding ministry.
- Oversight and effective management of Accounts Payable and Payroll, including responsibility for the accuracy of all data being produced by the team.
- Input and manage accounts payable, including invoicing, vendor relationships and cross-team collaboration.
- Collaborate with the HR team to ensure accurate processing of biweekly payroll and reporting.
- Implement controls and procedures for accurate payables and payroll management.
- Ensure the integrity and accuracy of accounts payable aging and payroll reporting.
- Speak into and help analyze the cash flows and financial impacts for A/P & Payroll activity.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and both company, vendor and employee requirements, and government regulations.
- Reconciliation of vendor aging, payroll reporting reconciliation and coordinate audit, 1099 & 990 requests
- Oversee month-end closing activities, reconciliations, payroll compliance and reporting for A/R and Payroll
- Prepare monthly activity schedules and compliance reports including function Key Performance Indicators
- Hands-on position that will lead a team of 1-3
- Coach, develop and evaluate high performing team. Provide mentoring and coaching to the team, and continually support and promote their professional development.
- Pray for coworkers in team meetings or with donors/listeners as needed.
- Participate On-Air fundraising.
- Participate in ministry wide Christian bible studies.
- Attend weekly Hope Huddle and team meetings for prayer and devotions.
- Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ. Maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of the organization

Education:
- Degree: Bachelor’s Degree highly preferred; may substitute 2-1 years of Accounts Payable Management for education.
- 5 years of progressive experience with a minimum of 4 years as a Manager/Supervisor
- Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with other departments, to promote best practices, and to develop solutions to business challenges.
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal with internal and external parties.
- Previous experience with process improvement, strengthening internal controls and managing transactional systems/workflows like Ramp, Bill.com
- Proven experience with complex Accounting, Payroll and Project Management systems and reporting; Sage Intacct/Paylocity/Wrike
- Extensive knowledge in Excel, SharePoint/One Drive, Teams/Outlook and other MSOffice applications
- Non-profit experience preferred
- Understanding budget management and coding to complex multi-segmented COA.
- Flexible and adaptable to high volume data and deadline driven organization

- Must be an active member of a Bible believing local church.
