As the Insurance and Billing Coordinator for H&S, your knowledge, skills, compassion and background will be applied to support team members and clients in the following ways:
- Provide clients with courteous and compassionate care through the provision of accurate billing information
- Conduct insurance verification and eligibility for services
- Provide an explanation of benefits to clients and providers in a way that is understandable
- Timely submit electronic billing to insurance carriers using online software
- Keep clear and detailed billing notes in client's electronic health record (EHR)
- Collect client co-pays and deductibles
- Call and work with insurance companies to reconcile claim denials, issues or reprocessing
- Posts payments to accounts in the EHR
- Follow up on denials from payments posting
- Perform regular, timely review and follow up of collection accounts
- Prepare and present month-end reports to the company CEO
- Accurately interpret Explanation of Benefits (EOB) and collection reports
- Sends necessary invoices to clients
- Other administrative tasks as assigned (e.g., answering phones, some scheduling)
The ideal candidate for this position is someone who:
- Is looking for an agency to grow with

- Has medical billing experience(e.g., use of CPT codes, submitting claims, resolving insurance issues) [required] (with a mental health agency, preferred)
- Has experience with the billing software (Simple Practice) (preferred)
- Has experience with communication and report software programs and tools (e.g, email, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Enjoys working with people
- Is initiative driven/self-motivated
- Enjoys and honors being part of a trusting and supportive team
- The ability to work a part-time schedule (15-20 hours per week) during day-time hours at least 2-3 days per week [required] - this position allows a hybrid schedule of some work from home and some work in the office setting.
