SUMMARY
Under direction ensures that the educational and rehabilitative needs of all students enrolled in the The Hope Learning Academy educational programs receive quality instruction and assistance so that each student is able to reach his/her maximum potential. Works with behavior and educational staff to ensure programs are consistently followed. Ensures completion of lesson plans, progress reports, alternative assessments, etc. Actively participates in the Excellence Initiative ensuring teachers and educational staff are supporting youth and implementing the established IEPs.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
1. Assures that The Hope Learning Academy Program meets the criteria for The Rules and Regulations for Non-public Facilities Education Handicapped Students under Section 14-7.02 of The School Code of Illinois, and that all required documentation is readily available, current and consistently updated.
2. Assures that The Hope Learning Academy Program meets the standard criteria of the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services text of Adopted Rules Section 404.20, and that all required documentation is readily available, current and consistently updated.
3. Actively participates in the Education Excellence Initiative ensuring teachers and staff are providing appropriate services and supports in accord with established IEPs and in accord with best-practice standards and procedures.
4. As required, completes evaluations for teachers and related services staff ensuring remediation plans as required.
3. Assist in the hiring and supervision of certified qualified teachers' (LTA) as necessary and completes performance evaluation of staff in a timely manner as required.
4. Supervises, schedules, and directs all educational and related services staff in a manner that encourages cooperation, enhances overall program planning and adherence to facility standards.
5. Assists educational program staff in the development and implementation of appropriate individualized goals and objectives for The Hope Learning Academy students.
6. As needed, serves in the capacity as a Classroom Teacher.
7. Initiates the purchase of educational material and equipment that has been requested by staff, assuring that it is age appropriate and relevant to program needs.
8. Functions as liaison between the educational program and staff and other facility departments and staff to facilitate "total day" program planning for the students. In addition serves as a liaison with representatives from the Illinois State Board of Education.
9. Attends, as requested, student intake, Individual Program Plan and other staffing or reviews.
10. Cooperates with the Supervisors, arranges orientation and ongoing in-service training for all school staff.
11. Represents the agency, as assigned, at educational workshops, conferences and committee meetings. Serves as an ambassador for the Hope Institute providing tours and presentations concerning Hope and the services and support it provides.
12. Assumes responsibility as a mandated reporter concerning incidents of purported abuse/neglect of students as outlined in the agency’s policies and procedures.
13. Assumes responsibility for assuring compliance of student rights and program delivery as defined in the Illinois Department of Mental Health Code and the Confidentiality Act as well as the Child Care Act of the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING
- Minimum 5 years teaching experience.
- Valid Type 75 State of Illinois Administrative Certificate with the General Administrative Endorsement.
- Knowledge and experience in implementing educational best practices and instructional models, including use of ongoing assessments and the ability to analyze data, utilize results, and develop programs to enhance instruction and student achievement.
- Knowledge of special education regulations.
- Ability to work as part of a team of educators, clinicians, and medical professionals to ensure the best quality of education for each child.

- Expertise in the implementation of programs and services for diverse learners. These programs include IEP process, professional development, curriculum development, and Student Information System (SIS).
- Ability and experience in providing appropriate feedback to professionals as necessary to guide best practices.
- Knowledge in the provision of clinical services for diverse learners.
- Experience with organizing information, analyzing, and documentation of data.
- Demonstrates success in working with multiple stakeholder groups on issues of consensus building, policy formation, and system and network development.
- Knowledge of autism resources and services. Superior communication skills and professional demeanor. Ability to elicit cooperation and maintain productive working relationships with internal and external contacts.
- Excellent presentation skills with ability to represent organizations at high level meetings and governmental agencies. Understanding of concepts, practices, and procedures of non-profit, social service, educational and health care sectors.
