Job Summary:

The DSS Liaison/Therapist works closely with Department of Social Services staff to ensure that victims of domestic violence receive a holistic, trauma-informed response as well as providing therapy, support and advocacy to victims of domestic violence referred by DSS. This position will split their time between Hopeful Horizons’ office and DSS offices in Jasper and Beaufort counties each week. The DSS Liaison/Therapist requires a master’s degree in counseling, Social Work or an equivalent. State Licensure is required or the ability to receive Licensure within six months of employment. At least two years’ experience working in a human service setting and /or prior work with DSS is preferred. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply and are compensated.

Salary: Starting at $42,000 /$44,000 dependent on licensure status

Additional Qualifications:

  • Training and experience in trauma treatment and domestic violence is preferred
  • Comfort with power point, public speaking and providing training
  • Ability to work with a team and independently – must be self-directed
  • Excellent public relations and communications skills
  • Good organizational and computer skills
  • Valid South Carolina driver’s license, clean driving record and willingness to travel
  • Must pass background checks
