What are the responsibilities and job description for the Career Exploration Specialist position at Hopewell Health Centers, Inc.?
Hopewell Health Centers is a nationally accredited federally qualified health and community mental health center with 23 sites across TEN counties throughout Southeastern Ohio (Athens, Franklin, Gallia, Hocking, Jackson, Meigs, Perry, Ross, Vinton, and Washington). We are currently seeking a Career Exploration Specialist to work with our Athens, OH Early Childhood team.
As a Career Exploration Specialist, you will facilitate career exploration for students as assigned from Appalachian Children's Coalition or self-referred through HHC having career interests in integrated health and wellness. Provides weekly consultation with students, virtually and in-person, coaching in professionalism and learning opportunities related to mental health careers, including but limited to, exploring job opportunities with local mental health and healthcare professionals and prospective agencies. In collaboration with school districts, local partners, students & families, helps coordinate the development of learning plans for student (allowing for up to 20 students per semester).

What do we require from our Career Exploration Specialist?
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Bachelor’s degree in related field
- Experience in trauma informed care, mental health and integrated care .
- A valid driver’s license, good driving record, and vehicle suitable for transportation.
- Ability to work independently and align work with team & relate to variety of professionals and parents of young children
- Awareness of and sensitivity to the cultural diversity of the population served, implicit bias, and its impact on care
- Commitment to the promotion of social justice and ability to promote diversity equity and inclusion within programs
- Ability to work independently, multi-task on multiple initiatives in parallel, and relate to a variety of professionals and caregivers
