We are currently looking to hire a full-time Finance Manager to work in and oversee our small Finance Department.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting (preferred), or equivalent experience.
- Experience in accounting, including experience in compiling financial statements and participating in annual audit preparation.
- Demonstrated knowledge of accounting rules, laws, and practice.
- Not-for-profit accounting experience (preferred)
- Superior organizational skills, ability to multi-task and prioritize and detail oriented.
- Experience with QuickBooks, Excel and Word.
- Ability to oversee our computer and phone systems, in conjunction with our IT providers (preferred, but not required)
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Must pass a two-step TB test, drug test, physical and background checks.
- Must be at least 22 years of age.

Principal Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Executive Director to manage the day-to-day financial affairs of Hopewell.
- Prepare for annual audit process including scheduling the audit and preparing all necessary schedules and data for the auditors review and recommendations.
- Prepare annual operating and capital budgets, and annual spending rule calculation.
- Report to the Executive Director and as needed the Treasurer of the Board of Directors and the Chair of the Finance Committee of the Board of Directors pertaining to relevant fiscal information.
- Responsible for the creation and timely issuance of monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements with supporting schedules, and for grants accounting.
- Manage accounts receivable, accounts payable, bank and investment accounts and associated reconciliation, and capital budget-related approvals and disbursements.
- Review and approve bi-weekly payroll prepared by the Human Resources Manager.
- Review employee insurance policies and other benefits with Human Resources Manager and insurance agent annually.
- Review property and liability insurance policies with the Executive Director and insurance agent annually.
- Monitor insurance and DODD contracts for resident claims submission, work with insurance billing agents to ensure timely filing of resident insurance claims.
- Maintain a collaborative and coordinating relationship with the Board-designated Treasurer’s accounting firm, submitting financial reports, analysis and other related financial information including fixed asset property records.
- As directed by the Investment Committee of the Board of Trustees, monitor investment activity, including conducting approved transfers of money between funds.
- Prepare annual Ohio Bureau of Workers Compensation reports and submit bi-monthly payments in a timely manner.
- Renew various licenses and fees required by the organization.
- Prepare monthly reports for management team leaders to track expenses versus budget.
- Serve as a member of Admissions Committee and attend its meetings; advise Executive Director on proposed Financial Assistance packages for potential admissions, based on FAFSA or other designated approaches.
- Meet quarterly with Hopewell’s board-designated Treasurer to conduct a detailed review of preliminary quarterly statements.
- Prepare materials for, attend meetings of, report to, and prepare minutes for the Finance Committee of the Board of Directors.
- Prepare materials for, attend meetings of, report to, and prepare minutes for the Investment Committee of the Board of Directors.
- Assist the Executive Director by preparing and distributing materials for, attending meetings of, and taking minutes of meetings of the Board of Directors.
- Supervise any assigned personnel.
- Oversee Finance Department consultants/contractors, as needed.
- Maintain organization’s legal files, contract files and financial correspondence files.
- Participate as a member of the Hopewell therapeutic community.

Work Location:
A combination of remote and on-site at Hopewell, or largely on-site, subject to mutual agreement.
Pay:
Based on experience.
