Summary of Job Responsibilities:
The Clinical Quality Nurse is responsible for ongoing in-depth chart reviews for compliance, eligibility, and overall integrity of clinical documentation.
- Prepares documentation as required for response to external medical review requests such as Additional Development Requests and their associated appeals.
- Takes direction from the Vice President of Nursing Practice and Education and other clinical leadership in developing plans, working tools, and assessments for quality improvement.
- Facilitates the preparation of reports that demonstrates areas of trending and assists in the development of action plans for improvement of quality documentation or process.
- Assists in the development, monitoring, and revision of EMR forms and processes.
- Provides appropriate feedback to the clinical management regarding clinician documentation, risk management, and compliance audit findings.
- Provides ongoing insight base on clinical experiences, nursing expertise, and best practice research to the quality department, the education department, clinical leadership, and all clinicians.
- Assists in clinical education and mentorship in collaboration with the Education Department.
- Contributes to and manages other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Current RN license in Colorado. BSN preferred.
- Prefer prior nursing work experience with Hospice.
- Prior quality review experience preferred, either as a part of another job or as the sole focus of a job.
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
- Prior job experience that demonstrates excellent organizational skills.
- Colorado driver’s license and insurance as position may require driving to different HopeWest office locations.
Relevant Experience:
- Auditing medical records
- Utilizing EMR as a clinician
- Data Analysis
- Preparing reports and data display
Requirements, Pay and Benefits:
- Must have unrestricted RN license in the State of Colorado
- Hourly pay: $35.00 - 38.50
- Premium pay for BSN, bilingual fluency and CHPN
