Medical Office Receptionist
JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION SUMMARY: Medical Office Receptionist greets patients, demonstrates excellent customer service skills and detailed oriented documentation at the front desk. Ability to multitask, in a fast paced environment. Maintains schedules for a multidisciplinary team of providers in multiple locations. Insurers appointment times for each provider is filled daily and minimizes no shows and cancellations. Maintains a customer service rapport with patients to encourage and assist patient to access care.
QUALIFICATIONS: Ideal candidate would have at least one year of medical experience, maintain a teamwork approach to everyday tasks, possess a strong work ethic, and have excellent communication skills. Medical Receptionist: 1 years (Preferred) Customer service: 1 years (Preferred) Accounts Receivable/Collections experience (Preferred). Experience in patient care, including phlebotomy and caregiving, focusing on SUDS and primary care medicine (Preferred).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Greet patients, performs registration duties, answers multi-line phone;
- Verifies Insurance, collects co-pays and past due balances;
- Answers routine questions, schedules appointments;
- Prepares medical records, post money, capable of balancing money;
5. Managing and scheduling patient appointments
6. Responding to new patient requests
7. Responding to existing patient communications
8. Minimizing no shows and cancellations
9. Being familiar with practice services and fees
10. Completes all required documentation and internal communications daily or within the specified timeframe.
11. Computer skills. Update patient Data and insurance knowledge. Assist the treatment team in understanding the requirements for services
12. Cleans and ensures facility meets medical clinic requirements.
13. Completes daily duty checklist
14. Participate in team meetings and case conference reviews.
BACK OFFICE SUPPORT
15. Prepare patients for examination
16. Obtain vitals/measurements and document in EHR
17. Dispose of contaminated supplies
18. Assist with UDS collection
19. Strong assessment form (documentation in EHR)
20. Sterilizing of medical instruments
21. Ensure that exam rooms are clean and stocked
22. Maintaining supplies and equipment
23. Maintain patient confidentiality
24. Ability to document vital signs appropriately in medical records utilizing computer skills
25. Ability to work in any office as needed
26. Obtain prior authorizations/Precerts
27. Referrals/ordered test completion
28. Customer Service/checking on patients every 10 minutes
29. Change sharps container and biohazard trash maintenance
30. Maintain certification if applicable
31. Maintain CPR certification
32. Strong understanding of patient safety and emergency procedures.
33. Familiarity with EMRs.
34. Cleans and ensures medical clinic is kept to medical office standards
35. Other duties as assigned by supervisor, Executive Team, CEO

9. Organizes work to complete duties effectively and efficiently.
10. Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations
11. Demonstrate the ability to make critical decisions about medical necessity of care by using good judgment.
12. Maintain a professional and collaborative relationship with all teammates and vendors to resolve issues, increase knowledge of insurance requirements, and create standardized workflows
13. Uses tact, sensitivity, sound judgment and professional attitude at all times when relating with patient, families and co-workers.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Primarily works inside. Light physical work, sitting, writing, walking, bending, climbing, lifting and carrying items weighing up to 40 pounds. Must possess physical condition adequate for performance of the work. Must possess physical conditioning adequate for performance of the work.
