Role Summary:
The Deposit Operations Representative is responsible for proofing customer and bank transactions according to established policies and operating procedures to ensure the accuracy of all deposit records. This role will perform accounting and handle customer related responsibilities associated with the department.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Enthusiastically support the bank sales function by providing exceptional service to internal and external customers of the bank.
- Professionally handle complex customer and employee inquiries that require telephone or email responses.
- Perform customer and account maintenance including but not limited to address changes, combined statement maintenance, account transfers, closed/dormant account maintenance and class code changes.
- Balance, research and post items related to depository account back office functions.
- Maintain image files along with signature card files.
- Perform all aspects of Optima Branch Capture system, including processing and loading of incoming and outgoing cash letter files. Research and process cash letter adjustments.
- Perform research as needed. Compile information requests which include statements and check/deposit copies.
- Review the annual escheatment report for unclaimed property held by the Bank.
- Reconcile correspondent bank accounts; research outstanding items relating to the reconcilement process.
- Monitor accounts for deposit compliance requirements. Gather and review information for audits and exams.
- Maintain confidentiality of customer account information and follow established policies and procedures in responding to inquiries and requests.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist employees with questions and concerns relating to internal bank operations.
- Develop professionally on a continuing basis. Participate in internal and external training as required.
- Perform other duties necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of this role.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- High school diploma or equivalent required and a minimum of two years of previous bookkeeping, accounting, or related experience required.
- Computer literacy including experience with Office Suite, MS Word, MS Excel, and other computer software products.
- Understanding of bank products and services, including the rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
- Ability to plan and prioritize work, exercise good judgment in all areas of responsibility, and work effectively under pressure and deadlines.
- Good communication skills are necessary to adequately address customer inquiries and efficiently resolve issues. Role requires collaboration and teamwork amongst departments and branches.
- Ability to analyze data, utilize resources to help detect potentially fraudulent situations, and minimize risk to the Bank.
Working Conditions:
Work is performed in a pleasant office environment with minimal chance for personal injury. Frequent mental concentration is necessary for listening and responding to various situations. Must be able to lift and move up to 20 pounds unassisted. Some twisting, bending, and turning is required. Work hours are generally during normal business hours and average 40 hours a week. This role may require some unscheduled evening and weekend work.
Salary : $32,600 - $41,300
