Role Summary:
The Vice President of Information Technology manages the oversight of the technological infrastructure and operations of the Bank. Leads a team of dedicated IT professionals, to ensure the efficiency, security, and advancement of technology solutions. By blending strategic acumen with technical prowess, this role spearheads the bank's digital evolution, empowering staff to offer unparalleled customer service while upholding the utmost standards of regulatory compliance and data security.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Promotes an atmosphere that fosters our Vision, Virtues, and Mission.
- Strategic Leadership: Develops and implements the bank's IT strategy aligned with overall business objectives. Collaborates with senior leadership to identify technology opportunities to enhance customer experiences and operational efficiency.
- Team Management: Leads, mentors, and manages the IT team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning. Delegates tasks and responsibilities effectively while ensuring the team's professional growth. Ensures high levels of service are provided.
- Technology Infrastructure: Oversees the management, maintenance, and upgrade of the Bank's technology infrastructure, including networks, servers, and hardware. Ensures the availability and reliability of critical systems.
- Security & Compliance: Implements and maintains robust cybersecurity measures as recommended by the Information Security Program, including data protection, encryption, and access controls. Ensures compliance with relevant industry regulations and standards.
- Vendor Management: Collaborates with external technology vendors, manages vendor relationships, and assesses third-party solutions for compatibility and security.
- Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity: Develops and maintains disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure the bank's ability to recover from disruptions and minimize downtime.
- Budget & Resource Management: Develops and manages the IT department's budget, making strategic decisions regarding technology investments, resource allocation, and cost optimization.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
- Risk Management: Identifies potential risks and develops mitigation strategies to safeguard the bank's technology assets and operations.
- Training & Development: Provides training opportunities for staff to enhance their technology proficiency and awareness of best practices.
- Innovation: Stays informed about emerging technologies and industry trends, recommending innovative solutions that align with the bank's goals.
- Updates knowledge and develops professionally on a continuing basis. Participates in internal and external training and development opportunities as required.
- Performs other duties as may be necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of this position.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (Master's preferred).
- Proven experience (8 years) in IT leadership roles, preferably within the banking or professional services sector.
- 5 years of experience managing a team of people.
- Strong understanding of technology operations, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity principles, risk management, and data protection.
- Experience in driving digital transformation and implementing modern technologies.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strategic thinking and the ability to align technology with business goals.
- Proficiency in project management, budgeting, and resource allocation.
- Familiarity with ITIL, NIST, CIS or other relevant frameworks is a plus.
- Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, ITIL, or PMP are desirable.
Working Conditions:
Work is performed in a pleasant office environment with minimal chance for personal injury. Frequent mental and visual concentration is necessary for listening and responding to various situations, and computer usage. Must be able to lift and move up to 25 pounds unassisted. Some bending, turning, and twisting is required. This position is salaried,and generally during normal business hours, averaging 40 hours per week, with occasional after-hours work required. Some travel may be necessary.
