Job Overview

The Sr. FP&A Analyst assists with the administration, support and maintenance of the organization's financial software and systems in addition to developing and distributing external financial reports and internal management reports.

This position involves ensuring the integrity, security, availability and dissemination of financial data, providing user support, and producing financial reports and dashboards for various end users across the Bank. The position may involve supervisory responsibilities

Principal Accountabilities

Systems Administration: Maintain Bank's financial systems including but not limited to Syntellis's Axiom Financial Institutions Suite encompassing Budgeting, Planning, Forecasting, Reporting and Analytics and other Financial Applications.

Data Management: Develop business requirements and functional specifications and manage data imports from Bank's General Ledger, core loan and deposit systems and other internal and external data sources. Ensure accuracy & integrity of financial data by performing regular audits, data validation and reconciliation.

Reporting and Analytics: Generate reports and dashboards including but not limited to monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and management reports to meet organizational and regulatory requirements. Analyze and present financial statements to executive management and business leaders.

User Support: Provide technical and system support and training to end users. Develop training materials and software to facilitate system use.

System Setup & Administration: Configure and customize financial systems to meet the organization needs. Setup and maintain various user roles and permissions.

Compliance & Security: Accountable for adherence to compliance standards including Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control, as well as all Bank Policies and Procedures with the ability to exercise prudent judgment for solutions from unexpected situations that arise. Implement security measures to protect sensitive financial and customer information. Actively protect confidentiality of customer and account information.

Process Improvement: Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to identify areas for improvement. Reengineer processes and implement solutions to increase efficiencies and productivity.

System Maintenance & Upgrade: Act as a contact point and responsible for systems maintenance, upgrade and testing. Liaise with Bank's Information Technology, Data Warehouse and Cyber Security teams.

Documentation: Maintain comprehensive system documentation of system configuration and processes for internal and external audit.

Duties

  • Provide support for the Master System User for Axiom Financial Institutions Suite.
  • Prepare financial reports; ensure complete and accurate financial and statistical records of the Bank. Understand Bank's Profitability and its drivers.
  • Assist with the company's financial planning, budgeting, and investment activities.
  • Use advanced data modeling, predictive modeling and analytical techniques to interpret key findings from company data and leverage these insights into initiatives that will support business outcomes.
  • Build, develop and maintain data models, reporting systems, data automation systems, dashboards and performance metrics that support key business decisions.
  • Review financial details from past, present, and forecasted operations; identify development opportunities and improvements.
  • Design and deliver reports and insights that analyze business functions and key operations and performance metrics.
  • Ensure policy and regulatory compliance in all areas of responsibility
  • Review operational procedures to obtain optimum efficiency and reduced costs.
  • Prepare and analyze annual corporate and department budgets and allocation of operating budgets.
  • Conduct and document periodic risk reviews and run reports as needed
  • Perform all work in compliance with established regulations, policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and instructions.
  • Maintain customer confidence and protect bank operations by keeping information private and confidential.
  • Participate in ongoing skill, compliance, risk management and security training as required for the position and apply knowledge in daily tasks.
  • Recruit, Develop, Mentor and Train Financial analysts to support department requirements.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field of study.
  • 5 years' experience in Financial and Management GAAP Accounting & Regulatory Reporting in Financial Institutions.
  • Demonstrated the ability to work autonomously, completing projects efficiently and accurately.
  • Three years' experience in Axiom Financial Institutions Suite Required.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft software applications. Experience with the FISERV core system is preferred.
  • Experience with preparation of Bank financial statements, funds transfer pricing, deposit pricing and loan or relationship profitability models and systems.
  • Excellent communication skills specifically in persuading and simplifying complex concepts/data and the ability to motivate and influence others through diplomacy and trust.
  • Ability to perform complex mathematical computations using various business machines and/or computers.
  • Must have proficient typing and computer skills, specifically Microsoft Word and Excel.
