Job Summary :
Horizon Casualty Services, Inc. (HCS) seeks a self-directed intern for the workers’ compensation and auto product offering at Horizon BCBSNJ. The intern will report to the Director of the HCS Network Team gaining exposure to multiple departments under her purview. HCS offers a network of providers to workers’ compensation and auto carriers (HCS clients) to help manage the medical costs associated with offering their insurance products. The intern will rotate through provider contracting and negotiations, dispute management, network innovation, provider data management, provider relations and clinical quality. The intern will have a good grasp of financials and a passion for creative problem-solving, collaboration, technology, and learning more about the healthcare industry.
Responsibilities :
- Support provider contract negotiations by participating in meetings, taking notes and assisting with follow-up discussions with providers
- Analyze dispute trend data and identify potential issues through data analysis
- Review current operating procedures for provider data and identify opportunities for improvement
- Participate in clinical quality discussions and identify opportunities to further align clinical and administrative functions to better serve the provider network.

Schedule : 8am-5pm (9 hour work day with lunch)
Duration : 11 week Summer Internship Program (June 2, 2025 – August 15, 2025)
