Job Summary
The Staff Accountant will prepare and maintain financial records to track the organization’s accounts receivables, accounts payables, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and other related financial activities. This role includes the management of confidential internal and external documentation and other communications, which requires a high degree of professionalism, world-class customer service, and discretion.
Essential Functions
- Post invoices and payments received to the accounts receivable subledger. Track aged accounts receivables and work with business area managers to track collect efforts.
- Post invoices and payments to accounts payable subledger. Prepare list of invoices to be paid and send to CEO for approval. Prepare checks and initiate credit card and ACH transactions for approved payments.
- Update cash flow schedule with daily bank activity and post activity to the general ledger.
- Update fixed asset subledger for additions and deletions. Run depreciation calculation and post to the general ledger. Reconcile the fixed asset subledger to the general ledger.
- Update prepaid expenses schedule for additions and deletions and calculate monthly amortization. Post amortization expense to the general ledger. Reconcile the final prepaid expenses schedule to the general ledger.
- Reconcile other miscellaneous asset and liability accounts to the general ledger.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Competencies
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of general financial accounting.
- Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, and accounting software.
Education and Experience
- Associate degree in Accounting, or equivalent work experience, is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
Salary : $35,000 - $40,000
