Job Title: Maintenance Supervisor
Reports To: Maintenance Manager
Department: Maintenance
Summary: This position is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance operations. Successful candidate will direct and coordinate maintenance team members by providing direction, leadership, development, training and support through empowerment and teamwork. Coordinate and work with outside personnel such as contractors and vendors. Ensures all department activities adhere to company policies and procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Planning, scheduling, documenting, and verifying all maintenance work to be performed (planned and unplanned).
Work closely with Operations to effectively maintain all plant processing, packaging, and support equipment in proper running order, while meeting all government mandated criteria necessary to continue plant operation.
Be acquainted with FDA/FSMA/CDPH (food safety) requirements and auditing standards and ensure compliance in all aspects of the maintenance department.
Managing environmental impact to meet or exceed governmental standards and company policies.
Working alongside Maintenance Manager in developing and implementing an energy program to prevent waste/reduce utility consumption.
Developing an effective parts management strategy.
Work closely with Operations to review and audit the preventive/predictive maintenance programs for assigned production and facility equipment to ensure a safe, efficient operation with a minimum of cost and downtime.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Broad base knowledge of electric motors, belt, chain, and gear drives, hydraulic, pneumatic and HVAC systems.
Ability to effectively troubleshoot mechanical and electrical failures and implement repairs.
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Manufacturing, production or processing supervisory experience is preferred.Food processing experience would be beneficial.
Must be able to work any shift.
Experience in electricity, electronics, computers, PLCs, fluid mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics, boilers, refrigeration, preventive/predictive maintenance is preferred by not necessary.
Education/Experience:
A high school diploma is required.
BA degree in a related field or 2-5 years supervisory experience is required.
Teamwork, communication skills and coaching required.
Certificates and Licenses:
No certifications needed.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has supervisory responsibilities of team consisting of 5-10 employees.
