Reports To: QC/QA Laboratory Manager

Position Summary: Oversee the daily activities of the Quality Control Personnel and Productions Areas under the direction of the QC/QA Laboratory Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all assigned personnel have checked into the correct department and that all time clock procedures are followed.
- Review and approve time sheets in a timely manner.
- Prepare weekly work schedule in conjunction with production schedules. Ensure all lines are covered when employees call in.
- Monitor employee safety and report any safety concerns to the QC/QA Manager or Safety Manager.
- Prepare incident reports if necessary.
- Work with QC Manager on disciplinary actions and job performance reviews/meetings.
- Report Food Safety concerns.
- Monitor and record all new employee training and do continues training related to the quality assurance department including SOP’s.
- Monitor and record the Hold and Release product daily.
- Monitor and record the FM daily.
- Monitor all CCP activities, deviations and non-conformances related to CCP. If non-conformances on CCP’s, deviation reports must be completed daily.
- Monitor all records related to quality assurance, ensure all orders are completed and properly stored.
- Communicate any issues or non-conformances with production shift supervisor and QC Manager.
- Monitor inline quality to ensure specifications are being met as per work order.
- Report any non-conforming product to production supervisor on shift and to QC Manager.
- In case of line contamination, call the QC manager to receive instructions as to corrective action. Ensure and verify all corrective action has been completed before releasing the line to production.
- Conduct root causes for department non-conformances due to audits and inspections. All root causes must be approved by the department manager.
- Conduct Food Safety trainings.
- Supervise QC technicians throughout the facility this includes raw, RTE, and by-products areas.
- Ensure all assigned personnel wear the required PPE for the assigned task.
- Assist the second shift QA team with any issues that may arise.
- Document errors and issues for investigation and corrective actions.
- Keep track and maintain inventory of all supplies related to the quality control department such as supplies, tags, paper, bags, ink, buckets, pens, etc.
- Write POs for any supplies needed for the quality control department and request proper approval.
- Assist with harvest quality issues and year-round raw production of both hullers.
- Assist with guiding the quality team after hours when needed.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Interviews and trains new employees.
- Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
- Provides constructive and timely performance feedback.
- Reviews and approved timecards properly.
- Partners with safety to promote a positive safety culture
- Partners with Human Resources to train, develop, and discipline employees in accordance with company policy.
Skill and Ability Requirements:
- Knowledge of quality defects, HACCP, CCPs, PCs, GMPs, Food Safety, Employee Safety, Food Fraud & Food Defense
- Skilled in Microsoft Office, Nutware, ATP Hygiena Equipment, Atago Salt Meter, Aqua Moisture Meter (MCPC), MB35/25 Moisture Over
- Ability to communicate and work with team members on a daily basis.
- Ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Ability to travel within a 95-mile radius (Lost Hills & Firebaugh)
- Ability to communicate in a professional manner.
- Ability to multitask.
- Organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
Qualifications and Certifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- 1 year of experience in related field/ Food Safety education is a plus.
- Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school.
- HACCP Certification or trainings.
- Food Defense Certification or trainings.
- Food Fraud trainings.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
