Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accounting Clerk to join our team. The primary focus of this role will be to support the Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) functions by ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial transactions. This position plays a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of our organization and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
Key ResponsibilitiesAccounts Receivable
- Process, verify, and post customer invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
- Record payments received and reconcile accounts to ensure accuracy.
- Monitor and follow up on outstanding invoices and manage collections activities.
- Address and resolve customer inquiries related to billing and payments.
Accounts Payable
- Review, code, and enter vendor invoices into the accounting system.
- Ensure proper documentation and authorization for all payments.
- Prepare and process payment runs.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies promptly.
General Accounting Support
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations.
- Maintain organized and accurate financial records for auditing and reporting purposes.
- Support the preparation of financial reports and other documentation as needed.
- Collaborate with team members to improve accounting processes.
QualificationsEducation & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in AR/AP.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ERP systems.
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Prior experience in a fast-paced environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
