As an Accounting Clerk, you will be integral to maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the accounting team. Reporting to the Office Manager, your core responsibilities will include managing accounts payable/receivable, performing data entry, and ensuring compliance with GAAP. Job Responsibilities:
- Accounts Payable/Receivable:
- Process and post invoices, credits, and payments.
- Reconcile vendor statements and address discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date A/R and A/P records.
- Cash Management:
- Assist with cash reconciliation, deposits, and batch postings.
- Track daily cash flows and ensure accurate ledger entries.
- Invoice Management:
- Verify and reconcile invoices with purchase orders and receipts.
- Prepare and process billing statements for customers.
- Financial Reporting:
- Assist in preparing monthly and quarterly financial statements.
- Support end-of-month and end-of-year reconciliations.
- General Administrative Support:
- Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems.
- Handle incoming calls and inquiries related to accounts and payments.
- Provide backup support to other office staff as needed.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with the Office Manager to streamline accounting processes.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Proficient in accounting principles and financial concepts
- Experience with accounting software
- Knowledge of GAAP and SOX compliance
- Familiarity with payroll management and accounts payable/receivable
- Strong data entry skills and attention to detail
- Ability to perform balance sheet and account reconciliations
- Experience in corporate or governmental accounting preferred
