Job Summary
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) plays a vital role in providing compassionate care and support to individuals with developmental and physical disabilities. Duties
- Provide patient monitoring and observation to ensure the safety and health of individuals under care.
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and household tasks.
- Support clients in developing life skills and achieving personal goals.
- Engage clients in recreational activities to promote social interaction and mental well-being.
- Assist with heavy lifting when necessary to support clients with mobility challenges.
- Maintain accurate documentation of client progress and any incidents that occur during shifts.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to create and implement individualized care plans.
Requirements
- Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred.
- Knowledge of patient care techniques, including patient monitoring and observation skills.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by client needs.
