Position Title: Staff Accountant- Business Office/ SL Individual Finance Bookkeeper
Qualifications:
- Be at least 21 years of age with an Associates Degree in accounting or related degree with a major focus in Accounting required.
- Experience with QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.
- Minimum of 3-years work experience in accounting or bookkeeping for a profit or non-profit business.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Good written and spoken communication skills.
- Knowledge of computerized accounting programs necessary.
- File application, a letter of interest, at least 2 work references, 1 personal reference and current health form signed within 60 days.
- Acceptable background & license checks performed by Horizons.
Essential Functions:

Primary Responsibilities:
Supported Living Individual Finance Bookkeeper
- Process and reconcile all financial activity for each of Horizons’ Supported Living residents through QuickBooks, recording transactions on a daily basis.
- Process all daily/monthly transactions through “PEX” for each Supported Living house and resident’s account.
- Store and maintain all electronic documents related to the residents’ monthly Individual Finances.
- Assist with processing applications and re-applications for residents’ entitlements.
- Maintain knowledge of each resident’s specific individual financial needs and procedures as outlined by their IP.
- Strictly follow all due dates.
- Work closely with the Supported Living Director, Associate Directors, and House Coordinators regarding resident’s finances.
- Maintain knowledge of Excel, QuickBooks and PEX systems as they relate to the processes of Individual Finances.
- Review work to ensure accuracy of Individual’s Monthly Finances.
- Work independently, following all procedures.
- Assist the Supported Living team upon request as it relates to Individual Finances.
Staff Accountant
- Complete monthly PEX data entry & reconciliation into Blackbaud as it relates to both Accounts Payable and Individual Finances.
- Complete daily & monthly Accounts Payable tasks as assigned.
- Complete daily & monthly Accounts Receivable tasks as assigned.
- Work within the Business Office providing all areas of Customer Service upon request.
- Assist with maintaining camper balances during the summer months in the Trading Post/Camp Brain System. Work camp intake days on 4 Sundays during summer months and work as requested in the camp Trading Post on weekdays.
- Assist in gathering information for State and Federal audits.
- Perform tasks for the Director of Finance and Executive team members.
