Horizontal Boring & Tunneling Co. is seeking a full-time Project Coordinator who wants to have an important role in the growth of a trenchless, underground construction business with lots of opportunity for advancement. This position will assist the project management team with planning, logistics, submittals, material procurement and more. The position will also assist the estimating team with quantity take-offs, plan and specification reviews, and cost estimating, as well as fulfill some field assignments to learn about trenchless methods, equipment, and field production alongside crews.

Qualifications:
- Degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related program preferred.
- Experience in civil construction, underground construction or trenchless construction preferred.
- Able to travel up to 25% of the time. When on a field assignment, travel may include some weekends.
- Must report to the main office in Exeter, NE, located about 50 miles west of Lincoln, NE.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Pre-employment drug and background screening.
- Must be able to pass a DOT physical.
Required Skills:
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Strong math skills, including the ability to perform mental math and think analytically.
- A developing knowledge of construction methods and best practices.
- Problem-solving and critical thinking skills, including the ability to plan and conceptualize.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, manage time to meet project deadlines, and effectively coordinate jobsite logistics.
- Excellent communication skills, written and interpersonal.
- Strong initiative and work ethic.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Computer skills in Microsoft Office, especially Excel. Experience with construction industry software is preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the purchase and delivery of project materials.
- Acquire oversize/overweight permits.
- Perform field survey readings and standard documentation.
- Perform field assignments along with a crew to learn about trenchless methods, equipment, and field production.
- Assist with material quotes, cost estimating, quantity take-offs, and follow on bids.
- Maintain records related to bids and projects.
- Assist with submittals, pre-qualification packages, permits, and project correspondence.
- Assist with daily planning, scheduling, and project coordination.
- Assist with project closeout. Analyze and prepare costs for billing, resolve cost issues, and draft project invoices.
- Assist with change orders.
- Apply construction and engineering principles to solve problems throughout the construction process.
- Identify tools, equipment, and materials needed to complete a project and understand the benefits, costs, and risks associated with each.
- Provide excellent customer service and maintain positive professional relationships while communicating with customers throughout the bidding and execution of a project.
