RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Works with an intermediate degree of supervision and/or detailed procedures.
- Performs routine, complex and occasionally highly complex assays in the Microbiology and Chemistry Lab (all activities must be performed in a safe, accurate and efficient manner.)
- Performs other duties assigned, including responsibilities in other areas of Research and Development.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required
- Basic lab skills including aseptic technique, quantitative and qualitative analysis.
- Strong math skills.
- Must be capable of standing for extended periods of time, handle strong odors and may, on occasion, have to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must live within a commutable distance from Austin, Minnesota (relocation/housing assistance not provided.)
Preferred
- Working toward a bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline with lab experience.

At Hormel Foods, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The base hiring pay range for this role is between $17.75 - $17.75 per hour, and your actual base pay within that range will depend upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skill set, level of experience, and geographic market location.
