What are the responsibilities and job description for the HR Lead-FTSM position at Hormel Foods?
Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
- Maintain personnel files and records, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality of records.
- Assist employees in accessing self-service HR programs to update data, such as Home Address, Phone Number, and Payroll data.
- Own Onboarding process for new hires, including pre-hire activities and orientation activities
- Schedule meetings and events for HR
- Coordinate/guide all new and existing employees through training process and training documentation.
- Work through managers, supervisors, line leads, and coordinators and others to ensure training process is followed and accurately documented.
- Provide various reports for all users on Training and HR data as appropriate.
- Develop and facilitate individual and group training when the need is identified.
- Own PIT training program including development of training documents, provide classroom instruction for new hires and licensing.
- Coordinate and plan uniform ordering events on site, distribute uniforms and verify invoicing
- Track attendance for all hourly employees and issue corrective action documents for review
- Participate in screening and coordinating candidates for recruiting process.
- Assist in the development of LMS to track training by employee, job classification and type of training.
- Maintain accuracy and integrity of training LMS and programs.
- Update/Create training materials, and digital communications presented throughout the facility
- Support plant Quality, high performance culture and continuous improvement programs through active participation in QRMP, Quality Management Systems and plant productivity programs
- Ensure safe work environment for self and others by complying with all safety rules, requirements, and programs, as well as making suggestions to improve safety of the facility and personnel.
- Perform area housekeeping duties as necessary.
- Management reserves the right, as it deems necessary to assign jobs on a temporary basis in any manner that supports efficient plant operations.
Basic or minimum Qualifications/Abilities:
- Microsoft Office Suite Basic to Intermediate User: Outlook email, calendar, and task functions; Excel-create spreadsheets with basic formulas, and update/edit existing spreadsheets; Word- create appropriate Postings and communications, use mail merge; PowerPoint: edit and create Presentations for training and plant communication posting.
- Ability to learn web-based company programs for recruiting, training, data entry and other HR/Training functions within reasonable training time.
- Must have and maintain a good attendance record and, with planning, work a flexible schedule Must be able to communicate effectively and work closely with multiple individuals across different positions and skill levels.
- Must be able to effectively present training materials to large groups of employees.
Physical Requirements
- Able to walk, stand, and sit for the duration of shift
- Performs bending, squatting, kneeling, sorting, and reaching to both ground level and overhead
- Wear all Required Personal Protective Equipment, PPE, to perform job tasks
- Ascend/Descend stairs throughout shift
- Lift up to up to 20 pounds independently, and heavier weights with assistance
- Able to give and understand instructions and hold conversations in manufacturing environment, as well as an office or classroom setting
- Communicate with co-workers face to face, radio, and phone.
- Must possess manual dexterity necessary to operate equipment, disassemble and reassemble equipment, operate a computer and other standard office equipment
- Utilize phone and email for communication
- Vision adequate to manipulate equipment controls, complete paperwork, utilize computers, and have depth perception.
