As a Construction Management EIT, you will support Construction Managers and Engineers with engineering design tasks for various projects.
What are the core responsibilities for the role?
- Serve as a construction inspector on infrastructure projects under the general supervision of the project engineer
- Sample and test construction materials as needed
- Must be willing to follow the construction process which will require some night and weekend work
- Track and process daily project documentation, including contractor payments and test frequency tracking using excel spreadsheets
- Support Construction Managers and Engineers with construction engineering tasks for various projects
- Perform civil engineering design and associated calculations and interpret plans from other engineering-related disciplines
- Apply technical expertise and be able to work with a project team on conventional and unconventional projects
- Perform independent research regarding construction (contract, specifications, materials, and processes)
- Adhere to Horrocks' safety standards to uphold a safe and efficient environment
- Work in a collaborative team environment and deliver accurate work products that are error-free
- Maintain a professional attitude and fulfill responsibilities with integrity
- B.S. in Civil Engineering - EIT
- 0-2 years of experience in civil design is preferred
- Passed Fundamentals of Engineering Exam
- Be able to pass WAQTC testing exams, and IQP inspector exams
- Must be able to work independently with the ability to accomplish multiple tasks, with competing priorities Have a strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines
- Prioritize work to meet various project requests and deadlines, answering to various engineers and project managers
- Be able to develop designs and documentation using AutoCAD 3D Civil or other design software
- Manage project data files from various sources
- Be proactive and responsive in effectively communicating with colleagues and clients, both in-person and virtually/remotely
- Ability to travel on occasion
