As a Project Management Support Intern, you will support the Project Management Office by assisting in the development of tools, processes, and trainings that enhance project management practices across the organization.
What are the core responsibilities for the role?
- Create and maintain tools and trainings for PMs
- Assist in managing projects as requested, including building and maintaining earned value sheets
- Standardize and improve project related practices through tools and processes
- Work with People and Culture to develop, coordinate and provide PM training
As you gain experience, the following responsibilities will be introduced :
Effectively communicate with PM’s, geographic / Business Line / Corporate leadership, Financial Business Analytics (FBA), Project Accountants (PA’s) and support staff regarding PMO, initiatives, tools, data, etc.Develop and lead quarterly PM / project reviews to ensure data accuracy, project health and PM trainingDevelop, maintain and expand the PMO SharePoint site as a database for PM tools, templates, etc.Collect regular feedback to ensure use and effectiveness of all tools and trainingsAttend various geographic leadership groups including, but not limited to, Resource Management group, PM Roundtable and Finance Committee, as assignedTrack and achieve metrics including : project health, data accuracy, Earned Value, and WIP / AR / Distress on a project by project and geographic basisGuide focus group (PMs with less than 3 years’ experience) through new / on-boarding PM trainingsEmphasis corporate / Business Line / geographic goals and best practices regularly to PMsTrack and report on progress of key projects while supporting PM and project teamDevelop, implement and maintain tracking systems to effectively manage various on-call and pool contract budgets (e.g. UDOT).Maintain accurate project information (scope of work, budgets, rates, etc.) in Company and various client software programs and data bases (e.g. ePM, CMS, Vantagepoint, etc.)Other duties as assignedQualifications, Skills, and Competencies :
Pursuing a degree in business administration or engineeringPMI certification or equivalent, a plusProject management / PMO experience (a plus)Microsoft 365 (required)Strong verbal and written communicationWhy would a candidate want this job?
