Caring Companion HHA or DSP

We are seeking compassionate and attentive individuals to join our team as Caring Companions. In this role, you will provide direct, one-on-one companionship and support to residents in our Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF). The primary goal is to ensure the resident’s safety, comfort, and well-being while offering emotional support and reassurance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide constant supervision and companionship to an assigned resident.
• Ensure the resident’s safety by preventing falls, wandering, or other risky behaviors.
• Offer emotional support and engage in conversation or activities as appropriate for the resident’s comfort.
• Assist with non-clinical tasks, such as helping the resident eat or drink, under the guidance of nursing staff.
• Communicate any changes in the resident’s condition or behavior to the nursing team promptly.
• Maintain a calm, patient, and caring demeanor while addressing the resident’s needs.
• Adhere to all facility policies and procedures, including infection control and resident privacy regulations.
  
  
  

Qualifications:

• Compassionate, patient, and dependable, with a genuine interest in working with elderly or disabled individuals.
• Prior experience in a healthcare setting or as a home health aide or caregiver is preferred.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to respond to resident needs promptly.
• Ability to follow directions and work under the supervision of nursing staff.
• HHA or DSP experience
  
  
  

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit for extended periods.
• Capable of assisting with light physical tasks, such as guiding a resident in a wheelchair or helping them eat or drink.
