What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Math Program Teacher position at Hosmer Elementary School?
Position: Summer Math Program Teacher
Dates: Monday - Thursday, July 7, 2025 - July 31, 2025 (4 days a week for a month)
Location: Hosmer School
Rate of Pay: $35.00 per hour
Hours: 8:00-12:00 pm includes 30 min of prep a day
Additional days: 1 “day” (4hrs) one 1-hour orientation and includes program set up/clean up time.
Additional paid time: There may be an additional weekly 30-minute faculty meeting at the discretion of the Director.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teach grouping of students in grades K-5. (Grouping would not exceed 15-20)
- Use Responsive classroom management - morning meeting and closing circle
- Conduct whole group and small group math lessons
- Follow a scripted curriculum for math
- Supplement the scripted curriculum with creative activities
- Help with math interventions
- Attend pre-program training and weekly faculty meetings
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Experience working with elementary-grade students.
- Experience collaborating with colleagues
- Familiarity with best practices in math instruction.
- Holds the belief that all children can learn and learn to read and write effectively
- Familiarity with Responsive Classroom practices, language, and beliefs
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- A current Massachusetts Elementary Teaching License/Certification
- Three or more successful years of experience teaching elementary students in math preferred
