Job Summary
Full-time position is available in our inpatient facilities (Statesville and Mooresville) as an Assistant Director. This role is responsible for assisting the Director with day to day operations, staffing, management and coordination of the inpatient units. Graduation from an approved school of professional nursing with a preferred BSN and two years of experience providing direct patient care OR graduation from an approved school of professional nursing and four years of experience providing direct patient care with one year of in hospice nursing preferred. Certification as a Hospice and Palliative Care Nurse is preferred. Supervisory experience is preferred in a health care setting and/or hospice setting
Responsibilities
- Supervise and mentor staff members, providing guidance and support to enhance their professional development.
- Oversee daily operations of programs serving hospice patients and families, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Develop and implement effective program strategies that meet the needs of clients and families.
- Manage relationships with external partners, stakeholders, and families to ensure collaborative efforts in service delivery.
- Assist in budgeting processes, monitoring expenditures, and ensuring financial accountability within programs.
- Conduct regular assessments of program effectiveness and make necessary adjustments to improve service delivery.
- Engage in administrative tasks including reporting, documentation, and maintaining accurate records related to program activities.
- Support the Director in strategic planning initiatives aimed at enhancing service offerings and organizational growth.
Skills
- Proven experience in supervising teams and fostering a positive work environment.
- Knowledge of working with individuals who have a terminal illness, demonstrating empathy and understanding of their unique needs.
- Strong relationship management skills to effectively engage with clients, families, staff, and community partners.
- Background in nursing, nursing management and hospice is preferred to ensure a comprehensive understanding of client needs.
- Experience in program management and development to drive initiatives that improve service quality.
- Administrative skills including proficiency in budgeting, reporting, and compliance monitoring.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
