WHAT YOU WILL DO:
• Develop electronic medical record documentation curriculum for the HWR staff
• Develop training materials for the clinical software database application using agency approved templates.
• Implement electronic medical record documentation curriculum with new HWR staff following clinical practices and standards.
• Develop and implement ongoing electronic medical record documentation education based on the assessed learning needs of the clinical staff using agency approved mediums.
• Identify staff with documentation application deficit(s) and develop a plan, in conjunction with the staff’s Team Leader, to address the deficit(s).
• Develop and implement software application education for anticipated and/or scheduled discipline transition and/or professional enhancement.
• Develop and implement software application education for anticipated and/or scheduled upgrades.
• Collaborates with the Education Team in operationalizing the agency’s Education Plan
• Creates and maintains the clinical software application's forms, plan of care, order type, location, physician maintenance, drug maintenance, care program maintenance and security (roles, disciplines, discipline categories)
• Facilitates the integrity of the clinical software applications:
o Correcting documentation errors by managing the Data Modification Request (DMR) line, Documenting corrections made, Managing duplicate medical records, Assist in tracking/trending documentation errors to identify staff needing remediation, Collaborates with Director of Compliance regarding documentation errors and duplicate electronic medical records.
• Promotes the use of point of service documentation in enhancing the accuracy and timeliness of documentation.
• Able to problem solve staff’s software application and technical difficulties.
o Act as a liaison between staff and the Information Systems (IS) Team regarding the clinical software applications.
o Assist with assigning new logins/passwords,
o Assist with editing logins and unlocking/resetting passwords,
• Provide HWR clinical staff with timely software assistance referring them to the IS team when necessary.
• Promotes, evaluates, analyzes, and provides recommendations for future clinically pertinent technical augmentation.
• Participates in agency Committees as assigned
SUCCESS CAPABILITIES:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• One to two years’ experience in hospice preferred.
• Experience in education and training preferred.
• Knowledge of adult learning principles
• Technical skills regarding reporting, analysis, and data manipulation
• Ability to resolve conflict
• Demonstrates proficiency with basic Microsoft applications (Windows, Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)
• Ability to read, comprehend information related to electronic medical record software
• Effectively and efficiently teach in individual and group settings
• Ability to work under time constraints to meet agency goals
• Adaptability and flexibility in changing situations
• Ability to travel throughout the HWR service area
• Easily embraces new technology.
• Able to function independently and in group setting.
