Responsible for the directing, coordinating, maintaining and controlling the day-to-day operations of the Financial Services Team including general accounting, accounts payable, ancillary services, payroll, and purchasing.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Ensures general accounting, payroll, purchasing, billing and collection procedures are in accordance with evolving regulations, legal requirements, industry trends and organizational policies
- Maintains internal controls and procedures to insure the accuracy and integrity of financial, billing and patient data
- Oversees the continuous development and maintenance of written procedures for all areas of responsibility
- Establishes and maintains effective business relationships with vendors, ancillary providers, outside auditors and regulators, professional trade groups and other hospices
- Coordinates banking and investment activities for operating and investment accounts
- Oversees the preparation of the monthly financial reports
- Prepares the monthly Variance Report and other financial/statistical reports as needed
- Coordinates the year-end closing activities and annual external audit
- Assists with preparation of annual operating and capital budgets
- Maintains files and documents for general insurance policies and coordinates all insurance related matters
- Participates on the Quality Response Team and follow-up on all Quality Alerts related to areas of responsibility
- Participates on committees as assigned
- Facilitates team meetings and continuous development and education of the Financial Services Team
- Serves as a resource to the Management Team and staff in the absence of the Chief Financial Officer
- Performs identified back-up functions for the Accounting Supervisor, Purchasing Supervisor and Patient Accounts Supervisor
- Completes special assignments/projects as assigned
MANAGEMENT
- Recruits, orients, trains, evaluates and monitors the on-the-job performance of Payroll and Purchasing Team Leaders
- Facilitates team meetings and continuous development and education of the Financial Services Team
SUCCESS CAPABILITIES:
- Five (5) years experience in accounting, accounts payable, payroll, purchasing, healthcare billing and contract negotiations
- Three (3) years experience with computerized purchasing, payroll, accounting and billing software systems
- Two (2) to four (4) years supervisory experience
- Bachelors Degree or comparable work experience
- High School diploma
- Proficient in word processing, spreadsheet and healthcare billing software packages
- Must be detail oriented and be able to work in fast pace environment
- Must demonstrate strong customer service and communication skills
- Flexible to work both independently and in a team environment
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- Compliance to Annual Flu Shot Policy or ability to provide exemption documentation
- Provide an active auto insurance policy as a licensed driver in the State of Ohio with the proper level of coverage as directed
- Provide an active driver’s license
- Ability to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
