What are the responsibilities and job description for the Biomedical Equipment Tech II position at Hospital Sisters Health System?
The Biomedical Equipment Technician II (BMET II) maintains medical equipment in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations or in accordance with the Alternative Equipment Management (AEM) Plan. The BMET II is responsible for a variety of tasks associated with the installation, maintenance, calibration and repair of complex biomedical equipment with minimal supervision. The BMET II colleagues should be competent in using all test equipment and tools needed to perform these duties. This position assists in the development of specifications for the selection of new clinical equipment. They also serve as preceptors for BMET I colleagues.
Qualifications
Education
Associates degree in related discipline is required.
High School Diploma or Military Training PLUS 3 years relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Experience
Proficient in all skills required for a BMET I is required.
Three to five years of experience as a Biomedical Equipment Technician is preferred.
Certifications, Licenses and Registrations
Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) is preferred.
Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) is preferred.
