Job Summary:
The Medical Billing Specialist is responsible for facilitating all aspects of the billing and follow up process.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Timely and accurate coding and submission of claims and invoices.
· Working of claim denials and follow up.
· Gathering appropriate information for billing purposes.
· Managing, tracking, and processing payments on behalf of customers.
· Maintaining detailed and organized financial records for accurate reporting.
· Collaborating with customers, third party institutions, and other team members to resolve billing inconsistencies and errors.
· Performing other duties as required.
Job Conditions:
· All employees, unless able to furnish an accommodation letter, are required to complete field orientation, which may involve stooping, bending, climbing, pushing/pulling, reaching, sitting, standing, walking, and lifting as a team.
· Position may be stressful in terms of meeting deadlines.
· It requires minimal lifting of office records and printouts.
· It is primarily a desk job which essentially involves sitting, standing, stooping, and walking, as well as an inordinate amount of telephone communication.
· Travel may be required, by car or airplane to local, out-of-town or state seminars, conferences, or meetings.
Equipment and Program Operation:
· Utilization of computer, calculator, multi-line telephone, copy machine, fax machine, online accounting systems, online benefits programs, and basic medical equipment.
Company Information:
· Has access to patient records, personnel records, and financial records which may be discussed with the Board of Directors, employee relations and quality assurance department staff, as well as outside government agencies if mandated by law.

· High school diploma or equivalent. Certified Medical Coder is a plus.
