We are seeking a skilled Diesel Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diesel engine repair and maintenance, with experience working on tractor-trailer systems. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who is capable of diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring that all equipment operates efficiently and safely.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections and diagnostics of diesel engines and related systems.
- Perform maintenance tasks including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks.
- Repair and align various components of tractor-trailer systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot hydraulic systems and perform necessary repairs or adjustments.
- Provide tire service including installation, rotation, and balancing as needed.
- Fabricate parts or components when necessary to complete repairs.
- Operate cranes and other heavy machinery safely while performing repairs or maintenance tasks.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used for each job.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while working in the shop or on-site.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Diesel Technician or similar role, with hands-on experience in diesel engine repair and maintenance.
- Familiarity with tractor-trailer systems is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of hydraulics, alignment procedures, and tire service techniques is essential.
- Ability to dig into complex mechanical issues and provide effective solutions.
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail in all aspects of work.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with team members and clients effectively.
