Position Summary :
The Director of Engineering at Hotel Granduca is responsible for managing the maintenance and engineering operations of the hotel, ensuring that all systems, equipment, and facilities are functioning at their best to provide an exceptional guest experience. This leadership role involves overseeing a team of engineers, technicians, and maintenance staff while collaborating with other hotel departments to maintain the luxury standards of Hotel Granduca.
Key Responsibilities :
Leadership & Team Management :
Supervise and lead the engineering and maintenance team, ensuring the hotel’s facilities and systems are always operational and well-maintained.
- Provide training, guidance, and support for staff to ensure that all team members are knowledgeable and efficient.
- Schedule and manage resources for preventive maintenance, repairs, and upgrades.
- Maintain staff performance and conduct regular performance evaluations.
Facility & Equipment Management :
Oversee all aspects of the hotel’s physical infrastructure, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, elevators, and other mechanical systems.
Safety & Compliance :
Ensure that all hotel operations comply with local regulations and industry standards for safety, fire prevention, and building codes.
Budget & Cost Management :
Prepare and manage the engineering department budget, ensuring that all expenses are tracked and aligned with hotel financial goals.
Guest Experience :
Ensure that all engineering-related services (such as room repairs or in-room amenities) are delivered promptly and with minimal disruption to guests.
Collaboration & Communication :
Work closely with the hotel’s management team, including housekeeping, operations, and front desk, to ensure a seamless experience for guests.
Qualifications : Education :
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field preferred.
Experience :
5 years of experience in a facilities management or engineering role, preferably in a hotel or hospitality setting.
Skills & Competencies :
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
