Job Summary
We’re looking for passionate, customer-focused individuals to join our team as Baristas at Jo’s Coffee Shop. As a Barista, you’ll play a key role in creating memorable experiences for our guests by preparing and serving food and beverages, ensuring top-notch quality, and maintaining Jo’s high standards of cleanliness and service. You’ll thrive in a dynamic environment where teamwork and flexibility are key to exceeding guest expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver outstanding customer service to every guest.
- Prepare and serve food and beverages according to Jo’s standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in all work areas.
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system accurately.
- Restock inventory using the First-In, First-Out (FIFO) system.
- Check patrons’ identification to ensure compliance with age requirements for alcoholic beverages.
- Handle deliveries, verifying invoice accuracy upon arrival.
- Maintain clear communication with all team members and management.
- Adhere to dress code policies, including wearing the Jo’s uniform and closed-toe shoes.
- Play music for the community while being mindful of appropriate choices.
- Complete cleaning and side-work tasks at the end of each shift.
- Follow safety and emergency procedures and ensure all equipment is in good working condition.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- At least six (6) months of experience in the coffee or service industry.
- Current TABC Certification and Food Handler Certification.
- Ability to speak, read, and write the primary language(s) of the workplace.
- Proficiency in basic math and familiarity with software like Excel, Word, and POS systems.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to speak effectively to groups.
