Title: Digital Marketing Manager, - Hotel Walloon, Walloon Lake Inn, Legacy Water Sports and Marina, and Barrel Back Restaurant
Reports to: Director of Sales & Marketing
Objective: The Digital Marketing Manager is dedicated to being the driving force that creates and energizes all stories and communications for the resort, brought to life by the nostalgic seasonal experiences, the true leisurely and peaceful feeling of being Up-North in Northern Michigan, in a positive and impactful manner. All while staying true to our core values, to create the notoriety needed to drive an ever-increasing traffic of new and returning guests, groups, and families to the resort and the village. The overall goal is to completely fill the restaurants and the hotel, in every season.
The Digital Marketing Manager is responsible for creating and administering content on all social media platforms, email marketing, and village public relations with the goal to create an audience and ensure exceptional customer engagement. This position will monitor and report site metrics, respond to reader comments, and manage creative design on all websites and social media accounts. This is all done in support of our Mission Statement. “Hotel Walloon Resort will be the premier lodging destination in Northern Michigan.”
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Create consistent, meaningful content on all social media platforms, email campaigns, Google ads, and Meta ads.
- Build and execute social media strategy through competitive research, platform determination, benchmarking, messaging and audience identification
- Communicate with social media followers, assuring that all queries are addressed
- Utilize and master analytical tools, such as Google Analytics, Meta Insights, and others to monitor and evaluate the company’s media presence and performance.
- Prepare monthly breakdown of reports on advertising and marketing and engagement efforts
- Create editorial calendars on Hootsuite and syndication schedules across brands
- Manage and update the Hotel Resort’s webpages, utilizing the most up-to date technology, such as video and drone footage
- Create and manage social/media influencer stays at Hotel Walloon Resort
- Study best practices and emerging trends in top tiered Hotels and hospitality
- Manage seasonal interns to assist with content creation and engagement
Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience in a digital marketing position or similar role
- Excellent knowledge of Meta, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Google, Mailchimp, Canva, etc. and other social media best practices
· Creativity for content creation aligning within brand standards
· Understanding of SEO and web traffic metrics
· Experience or knowledge of audience and buyer persona research
· Good understanding of social media KPIs
· Familiarity with Google Ad Words, Hootsuite, and SEM Rush
· Familiarity with web design and publishing
· Excellent multitasking skills
· Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
· Strong communication and organization skills
· Ability to work holidays and weekends as needed for content creation
Pay: Salary, $55,000-$65,000, based on experience
